lookup crash

Hi Hector,
coollector crashes when i use the back key
steps:
1) i start typing "the forger"
2) when ready i use the backkey to wipe "orger"
3) want to lookup the frozen ground
4) crash
i´ve got some crashdump files, but the last four crashes the
program just hangs. I doesn`t matter if i work in one or two
panes mode.
You want the crashdump file, or should i run the special
coollector setup to find the error? In the last case please
give me the download link.

I just made the test, and it doesn't crash on my computer. Maybe the difference is my coollection file which is different from yours. Please send me your coollection file, so I can make the test in the same conditions as you.

I used the debug version 4.0.4 for several hours, unable to make it crash !
"unfortunately" i'm almost done actualyzing the database.
With version 4.0.6 no problems so far.
I´ll use the debug version till the next program update, maybe the bug was
in version 4.0.5 only....

It's a possibility, but it's strange.
Anyway, thank you very much for your feedback, and glad the problem has disappeared

Oh oh,..
2 more crashes, one with version 4.0.6 and
one with 4.0.4
4.0.6 came up with an crashdump
4.0.4. didn´t - window openend (dos), some textrules scrolled and the window
closed again. The crash happened while resizing coollector this time.
what´s the location where the chrashdump is stored ?

The folder should have opened automatically. If it didn't, it's probably because no crash dump was created

Maybe it's a completely different bug. Are you using a skin? Could you please mail me a screenshot of your layout settings.

I´ve been looking for the crashdump file, it´s kind of spooky
I cant find it

While working on the database i always find lots of dubbles
whitch i remove, because i don´t want the trashcan filled,
i remove files directly and definitily, so i´m affraid the crashdump
file has gone the same way !
I´ll keep working with both versions and send you the files
when it happens again.
After setting the systemfont to 100% and using a bigger font
in coollector, there has not been a crash till now.
Problem with those settings are :
I can use coollector with nice big fonttypes, but now
i have problems reading the systemfonts (exception programs
that let me resize the font)
Make the program accepting a bigger systemfont would be nice

Thanks for the info. That seems to confirm what we thought, i.e. that the problem comes from the fact that you've set Windows to use 125% bigger font sizes.
Skinamp wrote:now i have problems reading the systemfonts
I understand. It's probably better for you if you go back to your initial settings, even if it means that Coollector will crash from time to time.
Skinamp wrote:Make the program accepting a bigger systemfont would be nice
I have already told you that I will do it for the next update

I worked with 125% sytemfont and the 2 coollector versions now
and had crashes and crashdumps. then i changed to 100% systemfont
and only 2 crashes but no crashdumps (one crash with each version).
Now i tested 125% again and had crasher with 6.0.6. and NOT with 4.0.4.
The program just freezes and i have to close and restart it. (see screenshot)
So i think you are right, the systemfont settings could cause it.
in the meantime i had an Widget crash,... i attach the screenshot also

I know, but I'm sorry that you have so many crashes. I don't think other users have as many problems.
