Post subject:  Message box every time I start version 3.x
:sos:

After installing the new version 3.x, a message box appears each time I start the program.
Clicking OK brings me to a loop (again the box)...
I didn't had the problem with version 2.99.9

Any ideas?

I've installed and uninstalled the program several times, I've rebooted the computer.

I've unistalled version 2.99.9 and installed 3.0.2.
Installing is not a problem.
After starting 3.0.2, the attached message appears (only once).
After restarting Coollector, the "Changes could not be saved"-box pops up.

I'm lost... You uninstalled version 2.99.9 ? I thought you were using version 3 :wacko:

We need to clarify your situation. What error message do you get when you run version 3.02 ?

Sorry for the misunderstanding.

All problems appear with version 3.0.2

After updating from 2.99.9 to 3.0.2, the attached errors pop up.

I didn't had any problems with 2.x

The problems also appear when uninstalling 2.99.9 and installing 3.0.2.

Now that you got rid of version 2.99.29 and installed version 3.02, what error message do you get ?

The first ("changes could not be saved") or the second ("Coollector error") ?

I got both messages with version 3.0.2

Uninstalling version 2.99 > no problems
Installing version 3.0.2 > no problems (I got the attached screen)
Clicking on "Finish" starts Coollector and the screen "Coollector error" appears.
Restarting Coollector causes the other error ("changes could not be saved").
After restarting, the box "Coollector error" doesn't appear again.

I have a solution that I think will probably work...

Please create a folder "Coollector" on your disk, where you'll install the portable version of Coollector:

http://www.coollector.com/Coollector_Portable_Setup.exe

If that version works, then close Coollector and copy "My Documents\Coollector\MyCoollection.cool" into that folder. There you should be able to use Coollector again. And if you're ok to help me, in a few day I'll go back to you and we'll try to understand what's the problem with the normal version.

Are you sure that your Coollection file isn't been read by another program ?

I can get the same 2 messages if my coollection file is opened by another program.

Maybe it's your antivirus. Have you tried disabling your anti-virus ?

Or maybe you could copy your coollection file, delete the original, and rename the copy as the original.

Hi,
great - it works without problems with the portable version.
No error messages at all.

I've disabled my anti-virus and the firewall > same error with the "normal" version.
