Hi Hector,

It´s sometime ago that i asked for program options.
You have the Mac version up and running, so i thought i´ll remind
you about questions discussed in the forum, that you would consider
and already agreed to. I also added a new wish in the scansequence ;-)

The point are :
1) Ability to shutdown the prizes update seperately
2) Select / search movies by location
3) Scalable fonts (maybe implemented with skins?)
4) Possibility to add own movie description website
5) User defined input field
6) Buttons forwarts and back to undo/redo the last action
7) By scanning next user options :
    1) Scan for real or scan preview
    2) List only new movies
    3) List doubles
    4) List new movies, including movies already in database

You say´d (if time, end of priority list) with version 3
I know you´ve got enough to do, but maybe you´ll find time for
some of above points in the near future

grtz

We already have the "location" filter, but it's for the location of physical medias, not for video files.

Please give detailed examples of what you'd like to do.

Very near future => improved file scanning, with no more preview stage.

Near future => 3) 4) 5)

I won't add this feature.

Only you can decide if it's normal or not to have several video files of the same movie, and you already have enough tools at your disposal to do it quickly.

1) click "playable".

2) use the left arrow to move from one movie to the next.

3) keep your eyes on the "owned videos" box => the number of owned videos will tell you if there are doublons.

Even with hundreds of movies, this shouldn't take very long, as you'll spend most of your time skipping movies with only 1 video file. If you have many series, you could also use the extra filter "movies and series" to list only the movies and discard the series.

I would like to list all movies stored at a specific location,...
When i have an harddisk crash, then i would like to have the abillity to
search for all movies that where on f.e. HHD_5 like shown below:
Attachment:
File comment: Search query to give me all movies that are on HDD_5
query.jpg
query.jpg [ 10.3 KiB | Viewed 9896 times ]

My personal file path looks like this :
l:\hdd_6\zombie flesh eaters\Zombie Flesh Eaters.avi
So i would find all movies on the disk when i search for "HDD_6"

Ok, I see, thank you.

I could automatically populate the location filter with the main folders where your files are stored.

What do you think ?

For instance, if you have your movies inside the folders:
l:\hdd_6\Comedy\
l:\hdd_6\Drama\
l:\hdd_6\Romance\
l:\hdd_6\Western\

The location filter would show:
l:\hdd_6\
l:\hdd_6\Comedy\
l:\hdd_6\Drama\
l:\hdd_6\Romance\
l:\hdd_6\Western\

Hi,.

I´don´t understand what you mean :(
For my personal purpose finding all movies located at "hhd_6" or "hdd_5" etc.
would be enough.

Maybe the location filter should be HDD_1 or HDD_2 and so on
only i think beeing able to input the filter by hand is the best option
and also the most efficient one,.....

I ALWAYS use a folder with the name of the drive
in the folder with the drive number "HDD_#" movies are stored in new folders
and maybe even subfolders, there´s no structure in that.

People who have action movies stored in a folder "Action", maybe will be
happy beeing able to find al movies by searchstring "action" etc.

That's exactly what you'll get in your case.

But it doesn't fit with the rest of the filtered search interface. With all the search filters, you select a value, you don't input a value.

With this method:

1) you won't even have to input anything.

2) you'll see all the possible locations. No need to know in advance what you're looking for.

3) it'll make the "location" filter more coherent than it is now. Indeed, remember that the location field can be used to store the location of a file in your computer, but also the location of a DVD in your house. It was a bit strange that until now the location filter completely ignored the location of your video files.

Yes they will, but you, you won't be concerned, because you don't organize your files this way.

Do not worry, what I have in mind should work for everyone.
