Is it possible to add another Icon... for awards?

IE. Oscar Icon.... I like to select an icon, if movie/actor won an award. Big Gold Icon (if winner)
smaller Icon if nominated....

Cannes Festival ... etc...
Screen Actors Guild Award...
Golden Globe Awards...

It's on my todo list to add awards info, but it won't happen soon as it's a low priority compared to some other improvements.

It won't be an icon but a tab in the plot field. By the way, maybe you'd be interested to use "MyNotes" in the plot field to save some awards info.

I own Collectorz, w/c I had been using for a long time.

I have Oscar Winners and Nominees entered.

Is there a way to import these values, once I export them from Collectorz?

It sure would be tedious re-entering all of them at the MyPlot area...

thanx... Great software btw... I've been looking for a replacement of my old program for quite a while.

Currently it's not possible, but probably it's not very difficult to implement...

Which field do you use to store the Oscar winners? Is this field exported?

Please send me a copy of your export file.

My email is: hector at coollector dot com

hi,
I have some suggestions for improving the program.
Sorry if my English is not good
Comments on Photo:

First point:
video language is More important.
maybe someone want to add a few video with different language.

The second point:
if you click in add the recognized files (was better video) and open language of the files, you cannot cancel that anymore. is not work.

The third point:
in Not recognized tab if you mistake and add a movie in this tab you cannot back that to recognized tab again.
you can add a bottom like "recognized" in there.
Thanks :)

I recognize there's a need for different languages and video resolutions.

But I don't plan to add buttons for that. Instead, I plan to extract that information directly from the files, using a library called MediaInfo:

https://mediaarea.net/en/MediaInfo

What's not working? Sorry, I made the test and I can't see any bug. If there's a bug, please explain better, and I'll fix it.

This can't work. Some movies are sent to the "not recognized" tab automatically, because the program could not recognize them, not because you've clicked the button "not recognized".

If you've wrongly clicked the button "not recognized" (which is rather weird), sorry you'll have to fix your mistake by scanning the files again. It's not much of a problem, as the files that you've already asssociated will be skipped and sent into the "already associated" tab.

for my First point :
I liked you more ideas and that is better from my ideas.
Provided that the application will automatically detect them. There may be as many videos.

about my second point:
I described the problem over the image.
You can test on your computer.
if exist the cancel key so must work.
I hope you will understand what I say
Image

and the third point:
I do not talk about movies that are not automatically recognized.
But sometimes known as a movie like The Inception (2010),
you are mistaken click on unknown, Video comes the list of "Not Recognized"

There may be a number of files or large changes you have, and scan again is time consuming and time-consuming.
It is easy in the photo below, you can put a bottom :" Back to recognized tab"

but this bottom be active only for movies that are recognized in coollector first and user made that not recognized,
not for that movie in program that automatically detects unknown or not recognized.
oooops sorry for bad english

Thank you, now I understand the problem.

You're right, the "cancel" button should not be there. You DO HAVE TO set a language, it's not optional.

My problem is that the dialog that asks a text value to the user (wxGetTextFromUser) always has a cancel button.

The only thing I can change, is when you'll click the "cancel" button, it'll cancel the action of adding the recognized video files. I'll do that with the next version.

It's highly unfrequent to make such a mistake. Not worth adding a (confusing) button for it...

Scanning files is very fast, and even faster when the files are skipped.

Sorry, too complicated, too confusing, for a case scenario that is highly unfrequent.

I have tried other softwares for organizing my movies but coollector has been the best .

my archive consists of about 3000 movies. before coollector, I had problem while receiving a large number of new movies .with coollector i scan new movies and simply find duplicate and new movies.
sometimes i receive a movie which i have it but new version may has better quality . I solved this problem by adding the size of each file to the end of the file name so i can make a decision to copy new file or not but if coollector was able to show movie info like "extreme movie manager" it was so good.In my opinion the most important file informations are:
file size
resolution
audio properties ( Dolby or stereo or what)
Coollector is also the best way to select a movie for watching. in this regard, if there was a way to filter movie awards it was excellent. some how, i am solving my issue but its not easy. i am adding for example " Oscar nominated best picture" to movie tag then i can filter it.

thanks again for your very nice program.

Thank you very much for your kind words and your feedback.

All the features that you describe would be good enhancements and I do plan to add them. Sorry I can't give any date, I'm currently working on other improvements.

I was very pleased when Coollector added Direct-to-Video to its list of genres. I would like to suggest that it also add mini-series as a genre. As it stands, both TV series & mini-series receive the same designation by Coollector. Since IMDb distinguishes between each I was hoping it would be possible for Coollector to do so as well.

How do you see it? A mini-series would still be marked with a red "series"? Would you change the filtered search?

Yes, I guess a filtered search option for just mini-series within all series is what I'm suggesting. You don't think it's useful?

Personally, I'd like it to be as simple as when I've added "direct-to-video", i.e. just adding a new genre...

A mini-series would be a series like it is now, only with the genre "mini-series", the same way that a TV movie is a movie with the genre "TV".

What do you think?

It seems that we agree. Sorry I didn't read your message correctly.
