I've changed my roadmap a little...

Contrary to what I've previously announced, incremental updates won't trigger the change to version 5.Incremental updates should arrive in a few versions, but they'll be treated as a minor upgrade.

The major upgrade to version 5 will happen when the TV Guide feature is ready, hopefully before the end of this year. TV Guide will be huge enough to justify a major upgrade.

i wonder what the use of a TV Guide is ?
Would it be useable at all country's, can we use it even if coollector
is not able to send it's data over the Network to start movies on TV.

Or is this not what you have in mind ?

98% of the movies, series and documentaries that I watch, I watch them on satellite TV. It doesn't waste any internet bandwidth, image quality is better, choice is large even with only the free channels, and because I use a recorder, I can watch when I want and skip the ads.

I'm probably the most avid user of Coollector, and as such this embedded TV guide would quite improve my life, and hopefully the life of a bunch of other users too. What I have in mind is very ambitious, takes advantage of what the program knows about you, what you own, your ratings and before all your predicted ratings, with a smart way to organize the information. It'll blow out any TV guide that currently exists. It'll be a revolution, at least for me, and hopefully for more than just me.

At first there'll be support for the USA (most Coollector users live there) and France (I live there). Then I'll add more countries with time, in parallel to adding more languages to Coollector.

Coollector will basically help you decide what to watch now, today, tomorrow, this week... It'll allow you to super-easily create a list of the things you plan to watch/record. You'll never miss a show, with very little effort. I'm considering some extensions to change the channels on your TV (smart zapping) or to program the recordings for you.

I don't want to reveal too much details too soon. There'll be a long phase of beta testing that you'll be welcome to join.
