v.4.6.4 running on iMac OSX EL Capitan 10.11.1 video MP4 files on WD MyBookLive NAS drive:
Scans for video files and completes scan successfully, however, when deciding to use folder name to amend a file by clicking on "use folder name" button, both iMac/OSX and Coollector program freeze. Keyboard shortcut to "force quit" has no effect and I have to go to login screen and restart the system. A bit of a hinderance having to abort this way and start again. Thank you in anticipation of a fix.

This bug doesn't happen on my Mac. Were you able to reproduce the bug more than once?

What's the file path displayed by Coollector?

Could you please make the test with a folder located on your computer drive instead of your NAS.

Thanks for reply Hector.

I created a separate video folder on NAS and on iMac, and then saved an mp4 movie file to each of the folders. I scanned each folder separately, one after the other, tried "use folder" and "rename file" option buttons after each scan and everything worked fine.

I then rescanned my main NAS video folder which contains all my mp4 movie files, tried "use folder" and "rename file" options again on the scanned selections and everything worked fine again.

I now believe that the freezing I reported was NOT an application problem, but was due to either my NAS drive being busy at the time or some intermittent and unexplained performance issue between Apple and non Apple kit, NAS drive being Western Digital and not Apple Time Machine etc. etc. Perhaps I need to invest in the latter.

Regards, best wishes and thanks again. Dave W.

Sorry, meant Apple Airport Time Capsule hardware not Time Machine back-up application!

Cool :D

Even if the program had gone into an infinite loop while parsing the file path, I was puzzled that it could have frozen the whole system.

Thanks for response Hector.

"Coollector" application works fine.

My issues now seem to be with WD "MyBooklive"(MBL) connected to my Airport Extreme.

Do you have any ideas / advice on improving inter-operability between the two other than swapping them both out for an Airport Time Capsule, which seems quite an expensive solution?

Would connecting MBL direct to my iMac improve things?

I know you provide support specifically for "Coollector" but any general IT advice would sincerely be appreciated.

Regards and thank you in anticipation. Dave W.

I'm sorry, I don't have any advice for you. Mac OSX behaves strangely sometimes with me too (long freezes) when I connect to my NAS (a D-LINK) over wifi .
