Sorry for your troubles. Another user has had a freeze with the new version: https://www.coollector.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=2502 Please test the exe that I gave him and tell me if it solves your issue too: https://www.coollector.com/FIX/Coollector.exe |

Fingers crossed! |

Done. Now, some time after freezing, the program displays this message: "Location nÂș GR19". If I click "Ok" button, the same message comes up again in an infinity loop. I have attached an screenshot. Hope this helps you to locate the problem.

This is really complicated. I don't understand why you're the only one who has the app freezing on startup, and you tell me that it happens on 2 different computers ![]() What I've noticed: 1) in your first screenshot, the filtered search "owned + not watched" returned zero results, and indeed there was a bug which I have fixed immediately, so I expected that this issue would be solved with the new version and only the freezing would have remained. 2) in your second screenshot, the search still returns zero results, but it's for a completely different reason. Now we can see (from the rounded numbers at the top) that you have zero watched, zero owned, etc... when previously you had 803 watched, 599 owned, etc... Even the "owned videos" box of the movie Fresh (2022) is now empty. It seems like the situation has evolved and maybe your coollection file has been damaged. Please send me your coollection file so I can test its integrity: https://www.coollector.com/help.html#coollection My email is: hector at coollector dot com |

When I updated the HTPC to the latest version and I saw the freezing problem, I tried to open the previous version in my work PC not allowing the program to update: it worked perfect as always before. Then I restated the program and allowed it to update: from that moment, the same problem of freezing on start-up as in the HTPC occurs. So I don't think it is a database related problem, but I will email it to you. About the differences you have noticed in the two screenshots: - In the first one, the program was opened through a shortcut for launching the program loading my database - In the second one, I opened the new version you passed to me clicking directly in the .exe file, so it didn't try to load any database This is another reason to think the problem is not related to the database |

That would explain the empty database because in that case the coollection file with all your data wouldn't be in the default location (instead it's in your portable folder) and the exe would create a brand new coollection at the default location to use it => empty. |

If the portable version of Coollector is the explanation for the empty database, then I can move on and create a new test version to locate the issue more accurately. |

Great news, I can reproduce the freeze when I use your coollection file with the portable version of Coollector. No freeze with another coollection or with the normal version of Coollector. Unfortunately I have to go for several hours, but I should have a fix later today. |

I am sure I am not using the portable version of Coollector. The last installer I used in the work PC was: "Coollector_4_19_9_Setup.exe", and the app was updating itself in each update you released. I have never downloaded the portable version nor use it. About how I am using Coollector and my databases: - I have 4 databases located in my NAS - I have associated ".cool" extension to Collector in Windows - I double click on a Windows shortcut (pointing one of the database files) or directly on the database file via the Windows Explorer to open Coollector with the selected database I want to load - When I open Coollector directly calling the "Coollector.exe", it opens the default database in "My Documents\Coollector\MyCoollection.cool", which is an empty database I never use To clarify: the second screenshot I uploaded shows the Coollector test version you gave me loading the default empty database (sorry I wrote it didn't load any database: I meant it didn't load any of my personal databases ![]() |

Speaking so much about databases, it gave me an idea: I have renamed the default empty database I had and I have opened Coollector to make the app create a new default database. Now Coollector opens without freezing (both the regular version and the test version). So it seems to be a problem with the new version of the app and all the databases I have (including the default empty database) created by older versions of the app. I will send you via email both default empty databases to see if you can see what is the difference between them. I would like not to loose my databases and find a way the new version can load them. |

Uwalk wrote: I am sure I am not using the portable version of Coollector. Ok, well, I've been very lucky that it allowed me to reproduce a freeze. And I think there's a great change that your freeze has the exact same origin ![]() Here's the fixed version, I can wait to know how it works for you: https://www.coollector.com/FIX3/Coollector.exe |
