Dear Hector
Is it possible to add "Telugu" as a Language in Language filter.
Most of the Telugu films in the database are tagged as English language films. How to correct this. Please help.

You're confusing videos and movies.

We don't know in which language a movie was shot. The only information we have is the language(s) of the existing videos.

Consequently, the language filter searches the language of the videos, not the language of the movies.

When you set the language filter to "Hindi", the result is expressed as "There are videos of 1,687 movies and series with Hindi language".

Telugu isn't listed because our database of existing videos doesn't have any video with Telugu language.



If you own a video with Telugu language, you can set the language of your owned video to Telugu (you just select the language field and input the value "Telugu").

And when you'll search your owned videos (by setting the status filter to "owned"), then Telugu will be available in the language filter.

Though bit confusing, i have tried and successfully tagged a film to Telugu language. I presume that you are getting all the data from IMDB, if it is so there is a separete field for language in IMDB database which tagged all Telugu films correctly. can i have look at your script by which you extract data from IMDB, only if you feel comfortable.

The IMDb is just one of the many sources that we use to build our own database. The language information in Coollector doesn't come from the IMDb, it comes from the technical details of the existing videos.

Our database doesn't contain information about the original language of a movie, and we don't plan to add this information in the future.

You must understand that we're not trying to have a database as exhaustive as the IMDb. We're a program, not an online database. We focus only on the most essential informations, to keep the program at a reasonable size.

Coollector is conceived as an IMDb companion. The program includes direct links to the IMDb, you use Coollector for all the unique benefits that it provides, but you still go to the IMDb website when you need more details.
